A New Year update from Maddie

Thank you to Hyperscale Group for their continued support.  I have some exciting updates for you of the progress that I have been making and some opportunities that have been presented!

Last year was a great year in which I made my international debut for Team GB Junior Para Athletic team in a World Para Grand Prix in Jesolo, Italy in the 100m and long jump.

In September 2022, I was invited back to the National School Games Finals which was held at Loughborough University.  It is a national multi-sport competition for students aged between 14 and 18 who are in the top of their respective sports.  I was invited to compete in the women’s 100m Ambulant race, where I won the Gold medal for the second consecutive year.  I also won the Gold medal in the long jump with a distance of 4 m 41cm. I was very happy to have had the opportunity to take part at the School Games as it is a brilliant competition, and winning double gold medals was the cherry on the cake! You may have heard me talk about my experiences on Radio BBC WM!

2023 is shaping up to be a busy and exciting year – my big news is that I have been invited to be part of the British Athletics Futures Para squad for the 22/23 season.  This means that I will have access to bespoke coaching sessions, additional learning opportunities and advice for being an athlete, and further opportunities to represent Team GB.  I have already been invited to Dubai with some of the senior Paralympic squad for Warm Weather Training in February with invitations to take part in two Para competitions in the UAE – I can’t wait!

Thank you so much for your continuing support; it means that I can attend competitions and athletic meets around the country, train with good quality kit, and access everything I need to flourish in athletics.
