Ovens for Africa

While many African schools would like the opportunity to use improved institutional ovens, paying the initial cost can be prohibitive. Many of Africa's schools do not serve meals at all.

Hyperscale Group has had the opportunity to continue to support the Joshua Foundation, Tanzania, with its purchase and installation of newly built ovens. We are pleased to hear the positive impact this has had.

The school cooks report they are using less than half the amount of wood and the food is cooking faster. This is a huge benefit when firewood is at a premium and classes were often held up by late lunches. It is also kinder for the environment to burn less wood. The new ovens are based on a simple rocket-stove design but large enough to feed a school full of children.
